There's no turning back.

BMX has become really really gay. It's making pure shit of my label as a BMX rider.
It's probably happened over time and without me noticing. But i'm fucking sick of it.

Thanks to Ugzine^

Epitomizes the capitalist nature of strictly bmx and it's associates. ^

Energy drinks are gay gay gay gay gay gay don't give a fuck how much they pay their riders or helped Mike Aitken... When i see the stickers of an energy drink that isn't even sold in Australia i know for sure im part of a severely damaged state of affairs.

People live on the street while we weigh our bmx components.

That's enough...

Dylan Radford.

I seen this rad edit of a guy i met ages ago named Dylan Radford. He's originally from Morwell, now living somewhere in Brizzy. He used to be good mates with Charlzy. We had some good times riding about a year ago when he was down, he impressed me with his no handed front jams at ringwood. Among other crazy tricks. Super friendly kid. Awesome riding, mad progression since I last seen him ride. Watch it.

The weekend went fast.

I went for a ride with the boys on the weekend. It was one of those weekends that really reminded me BMX is still there, alive, just dormant. I took a few pictures to share with the lot of you.

We went to this awesome spot. Carved around like crazy.

Heres Greg eyeing off a gap to wall, Ryan pointing out the line. Notice the 'constant surveillance' sign. We ended up being kicked out by a mall cop haha.

Cairns found an assortment of fresh fruits.

Greg on a steep part.

Luke got someone a bouquet. Awww

We went to Sam Dowley's home out in the sticks. His family have quite a kicking set up out there. All you can here when Cairns shuts up is the distant sound of waterfalls. Haha... Jokes. But the waterfalls are nice.

Mad spot.

I made a friend in one of Tassies finest exports, Luke Batchelor. We got lost on our way out to the bush due to my eagerness to get there, overtaking everyone and taking a wrong turn. This here is his bike. Lovely. Luke 360'd the spine at Sam's which is a fete in my books!

Lloydy with a footjam.

So it was an awesome weekend, I had to leave Sam's early, but word is some crazy tricks went down! Sam foot-jammed the little extension on the spine! Cairns says he ice-picked it.

Bmx is kinda dead to me.

It seems my regular riding habits have faded out completely. I don't find myself hanging out with riders, i don't get calls from riders, and i somehow have no need to get on my bike.
Its a sad state of affairs, but i don't get that buzz from riding that i used to.
I don't know if the competitiveness i see in BMX these days has really got me down. Or maybe the way that every time I'm out riding i get labelled as one of those extreme sports tricksters, up there with scooter riding and sky diving. It's just shit.

So i miss my friends, but there's alot of things I don't miss about bmx.

I miss the things that got me into bmx in the first place. Maybe I've grown out of it like my parents promised.

For anyone unfamiliar...

This is BMX

Belmar 09... the final round! from FBM BMX on Vimeo.

Mornings.

I came across a great project going by the name of Mornings, earlier this year.
Sailing the ship is Jordan Rodger, from Canberra.
They've been through some line up changes, and they've recently put some really great songs up on their myspace, so check em out here.
Mornings myspace
It's recorded in a garage, so it's perfectly raw. Made up of brooding melodies, beautiful lilting echos... Very enchanting moments in their music. These guys remind me alot of some of Mogwai's albums.
